This downtown Montgomery, Alabama wedding day was one for the books! Kyndall and John tied the knot on a warm and sunny June day. The day began with the couple getting ready at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel. The bridal suite overlooked the Alabama river and the beautiful blue Alabama skies.
Kyndall wore a stunning Lela Rose gown, timeless with a contemporary twist. Featuring a low back and a minimal sleek floral design, Kyndall was an absolute vision in her dream gown. Looking dapper from head to toe, John wore a traditional black tux, complete with bowtie and cummerbund.
The day began with a first look shared with bridesmaids and an emotional first look with Kyndall’s father. Afterwards, the soon to be husband and wife headed to the federal building for a private first look and portraits. Throughout their portraits, the couple was radiating happiness. Kyndall’s smile truly is contagious. Even while editing their photos, I could not stop smiling at their genuine joy.
The groomsmen rolled in (literally) for wedding party portraits. Talk about an entrance for photos! After a few group shots of the wedding party, we headed to the ceremony space, the Catoma Street Church of Christ. Everyone cooled off from the June heat as we finished our formal portraits. Donned in florals of varying soft shades of pinks and blues, this historic chapel was the perfect location for a classic southern ceremony.
At last, the couple was joined in marriage by their family officiant. I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the whole church. After sharing their first kiss, the new Mr. and Mrs. Thompson came back down the aisle as husband and wife to head to Ravello Ristorante for their reception celebration.
A quick summer rain shower came through as cocktail hour began. In spite of the rain, guest mingled and enjoyed an assortment of refreshing cocktails. While capturing sunset portraits, the guests were served a delicious spread of lobster rolls, crab cakes, and assorted smoked meats. After cutting the cake, the band Tasteful Tea got the party going until it was time for their sparkler send off.
The Thompson’s day was full of love and happiness and the beginning of a beautiful lifelong adventure. I am so honored to have played a role in their special day and I wish Kyndall and John all the blessings as husband and wife!
